Jeanette Oi-Suk Yew

Jeanette Oi-Suk Yew is a New York based lighting designer and puppetry artist. She received a BA with Special Honors Curriculum (Phi Beta Kappa) from University of Washington, and an MFA in Design from California Institute of the Arts, where she studied under Christopher Akerlind, Christopher Barreca, Janie Geiser and Erik Ehn. In 2006 she was awarded the Gilbert Hemsley Lighting Internship. As part of the internship, she worked with the Lincoln Center Festival, New York City Opera and the New York City Ballet. Jeanette continues to work with these organizations after the completion of her internship. Her designs and puppetry works had been seen in Seattle, Los Angeles, Minneapolis and New York. Some of her recent works include: The Saint Plays (lighting design) at Open Eye Figure Theatre, MILK (a puppetry production) at St. Ann's Warehouse, and Experimental Text Festival (lighting design) at Ontological-Hysteric Theater. www.jeanetteyew.com
