The Property Control Department is dedicated to assisting the campus in many areas. We issue asset decals for equipment with the criteria set for each expenditure area ( See New Equipment category for details). When new equipment is received through Central Receiving they will affix the asset decal.

We send out annual inventories of equipment located in each department to verify its location, and perform physical inventories of departments as often as possible. Fixed Asset (items with a threshold of $5,000 as of 9/16/02, and above) inspections are done bi-ennial. In addition, Property Control provides a service to all departments on campus for the pick ups and re-distribution of surplused items throughout Stony Brook University.
