Charge

The Web team is charged with the following:
1. Coordinate the development and maintenance of the Library’s Website and related web pages.
2. Ensure that the Libraries website complies with the existing industry standards in web accessibility, design, typography, etc.
3. Bring to discussion and resolve issues, which relate to the Libraries website design and supporting technologies.
4. Develop guidelines in web design and content management, which promote institutional identity and ensure consistency across all Library branches and units.
Ensure the Libraries Web Development community adheres to these guidelines.
5. Designate appropriate library staff to update and maintain selected web pages.
6. Train and assist designated library staff in development and maintenance of web pages and other related technologies.
7. Present proposals to library staff and Administration for comment and approval.

The Web Committee will focus on the following projects:
1. Libraries Website redesign (fall 2002 – summer 2003)
2. Branch Libraries web templates (spring 2003)
3. Web Design and Content Management guidelines (spring 2003)
4. Conducting a usability study of STARS (fall 2003)
